Differential scanning calorimetry. The study of the heat capacity of materials, thermal effects of phase and chemical reactions at high pressures
With the high-pressure Differential Scanning Calorimeter, DSC 204 HP Phoenix, thermal effects in a sample can be analyzed in the pressure range from vacuum to 15 MPa (150 bar) and at temperatures from -150°C to 600°C, depending on the type of gas. The sample chamber atmosphere can be static or dynamic. The electronic pressure monitor and control, along with exact regulation of the purge gas flow, provide for excellent accuracy and reproducibility of the measurement results. The proven CC200L for liquid nitrogen cooling is available for the low-temperature range.

Photo-calorimeter is ideal for analyzing photo-initiated reactions in a broad variety of materials, measuring the light curing of polymer, resins, paints, coatings and adhesives. Applications: melting temperature, crystallization temperature, glass transition temperature, phase transition temperature, specific heat capacity, curing temperature and rate, polymorphism, reaction kinetics.
Besides thermally activated reactions, which can be studied by conventional Differential Scanning Calorimetry, many polyadditions and radical polymerizations can also be started by irradiation with sufficiently high energy. The main advantages of UV-curing systems are their fast reaction – within a few seconds at low isothermal temperature – and their absence of solvents. Often, a combination of thermal and light curing reactions is applied to dual cure adhesives or paints.

The C80 Calorimeter is one of the most powerful, yet flexible calorimeters available. The high precision Calvet detector offers a unique level of sensitivity to thermal events and also the ability to design cells and vessels to simulate almost any potential condition
The C80 uses the latest evolution of the Calvet Design calorimetric detector in which a sample and reference cell are totally surrounded by an array of thermocouple detectors allowing for the measurement of all heat evolved (or adsorbed) including radiation, convection or conduction. The Calvet detector is up to 94% efficient whereas typical plate DSC are between 20-40%, and as such the C80 provides for an unparallel precision of measurement independent of sample nature or matrix – solid, liquid, gas, powder etc.

Calorimetric titration. The device allows working with nanomolar quantities of biomolecules, determining the thermal effects of their binding / interaction with the substrate with an accuracy to 100 nJ
The TA Instruments Nano ITC is engineered specifically for binding and kinetics studies on purified dilute biological samples of limited availability. With the Nano ITC, heat effects as small as 100 nanojoules are detectable using one nanomole or less of biopolymer.
