Rock and paleomagnetic equipment is used for the experimental studies of magnetic properties of rocks of various origins, yielding information on the direction and magnitude of the past geomagnetic field, and on chemical composition of rocks' ferromagnetic fraction. Magnetometers and demagnetization equipment is installed in a magnetically shielded room with the residual field <350 nT.
