The Centre has been established in St. Petersburg University in order to provide service and expert assistance to researchers in the field of analytical chemistry as well as development and industrial innovative work in collaboration with outside institutions and industrial users. The Centre for chemical analysis and materials research is equipped with a great number of various analytical instruments and offers its users a unique opportunity of comprehensive research during one session.
Application of gas chromatography and chromatography-mass spectrometry comprises not only substance separation and identification, but also purity control of newly synthetised compounds and pharmaceuticals. Moreover, GC/GCMS has a great application in environmental control, the oil and gas industry, petrochemical synthesis as well as in the food industry for raw material examination and manufacturing control.
