Working principle: Abbemat WR/MW Automatic Multi Wavelengths Refractometer uses reflected light for refractive index (RI) measurment. The sample is illuminated with a light source under different angles. At the interface between the sample and the measuring prism the incident beam deflects by the sample or reflects back to the prism. The reflected beam is detected by the multidetector array. Сritical angle for total reflection, that is used for the sample refraction index determination, is determined from this value.
