The Chromas Core Facility is focused on innovative research projects in cellular biology, molecular and population genetics, developmental biology, microbiology an biomedicine

The Chromas equipment is intended for experimental work in the field of up-to-date research of living systems. The centre specialises in high-resolution light microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy. Chromas Core Facility is equipped with everything it takes to carry out experimental research using the methods of transmission electronic microscopy, molecular genetics, protein chemistry and immunocytochemistry.

A universal graphic station for qualitative and quantitative processing of microimages includes computers with the necessary software installed (Bitplane Imaris, AutoQuant X, SVI Huygens), a professional scanner and printers.

A complex of high-resolution light microscopy includes automated fluorescence microscopes and stereomicroscopes for micromanipulations (Leica Microsystems GmbH). The microscopes are equipped with digital cameras, filters for different fluorochromes and phase contrast and Nomarsky contrast devices.

Our Leica TCS SP5 confocal laser scanning microscope is used for high-resolution microscopic analysis of preserved and living material, 3D and 4D imaging, real-time registration of high-speed processes and lambda scanning for registration of fluorochrome emission spectra and/or autofluorescence.

Our molecular and cell biology equipment complex contains centrifuges, thermocyclers, a spectrophotometer, a gel analysis system, a hybridisation oven, a water deionisation system, laminar boxes and a Leica CM1850UV cryotomecryostat.
