Chemistry Educational Centre enables students to acquire the basic skills in laboratory work for Master degree in Chemistry. The possibilities of the centre are large enough to initiate a separate course of study, an advanced professional training programme, or a system of courses for a period of a few years.

The Centre covers the following main fields

     • Laboratories for organic and inorganic synthesis of chemical substances and materials, outfitted with equipment for initiating chemical reactions in an inert atmosphere (vacuum equipment, Schlenk line, inert gas supply system) as well as for high-temperature and ceramic synthesis.

    • Laboratories of quantitative analysis, outfitted with equipment for separating and concentrating multicomponent systems (distillation devices, distilling towers, concentrators, etc.) as well as for preliminary preparation of materials for chemical analysis (microwave system, sample preparation microwave system, solid-phase extraction device, etc.).

      • Laboratories of instrumental research methods

  • • Atomic spectroscopy.
  • • Atomic emission spectroscopy with inductively coupled plasma.                                        
  • • Atomic absorption spectroscopy including flame and electrothermal atomisation, as well as determination of elements with preliminary hydride generation.
  • • X-ray fluorescence analysis.    
  • • Molecular spectroscopy.                                                                                               
  • • Absorption spectroscopy and luminescence spectroscopy in the spectrum 200-1000 nm.
  • • Infrared spectroscopy.
  • • Chromatography.
  • • Gas chromatography with detection of thermal conductivity and flame ionization, as well as with detection of photo-ionization, thermoionic detection and electron-capture detection.
  • • Chromato-mass spectroscopy.
  • • Highly effective liquid and ionic chromatography.
  • • Capillary electrophoresis system.
  • • Electrochemical analysis methods.
  • • pH measurement, potentiometric measurements, ionometry, conductometry, coulometry, voltamperometry, impedancemetry, etc.
  • • Thermal methods of analysis.
  • • Differential scanning calorimetry, differential thermal analysis, and thermogravimetry.
